Created by Dior's in-house perfumer François Demachy in 2018, Sauvage Eau de Parfum is a more mysterious, sensual, and "grown-up" interpretation of the original 2015 Eau de Toilette.¹ While the EDT is known for its raw, metallic freshness, the Eau de Parfum adds a layer of oriental warmth and smoothness.²

The Scent Experience

Inspired by the desert at "the magic hour"—the moment of twilight when the burning desert air meets the coolness of the night—Sauvage EDP captures a thick, blue-tinged atmosphere.³

• The Opening (Top Notes): It begins with the signature burst of Calabrian Bergamot.⁴ In this version, the citrus is juicier and more rounded, lacking the sharp "sting" of the EDT.

   

• The Heart (Middle Notes): As it settles, a spicy, aromatic core emerges.⁵ Sichuan Pepper provides a characteristic tingle, while Lavender adds a clean, soapy refinement.⁶ This version is uniquely enriched with Star Anise and Nutmeg, giving it a warm, "smoky" spice profile that feels more sophisticated.⁷

   

• The Dry Down (Base Notes): The fragrance lingers with a powerful trail of Ambroxan, which gives it a musky, skin-like quality.⁸ The defining addition to the EDP is a high-quality Papua New Guinean Vanilla Absolute, which wraps the woodiness in a creamy, slightly sweet, and masculine finish.⁹
